Drummond Island Library is one of eight branches of the Superior District Library, which serves the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan with a combined collection of approximately 200,000 materials including books, audiobooks, movies, eBooks and eAudiobooks. The branch is located at 29934 East Court Street in Drummond Township, Chippewa County. Drummond Island, roughly 87,000 acres in Lake Huron, is the largest U.S. freshwater island, reachable only by the state ferry from De Tour Village on the mainland. The library serves island students, year-round residents and seasonal visitors alike, offering public computers, internet access, fax, copying and laminating services alongside access to Michigan's statewide MeL digital platform. Each summer the branch participates in the Feeding America Gather 2 Grow program, providing free grab-and-go lunches for children and young adults through age 26.
