📖 About Lay Park Resource Center

The Lay Park Resource Center is a branch of the Athens Regional Library System embedded within the Lay Park Community Center at 297 Hoyt Street in east Athens. Designed as a neighborhood outpost rather than a stand-alone building, the center provides children's services, computer terminals, printing, scanning, and free WiFi to residents in one of Athens-Clarke County's traditionally underserved areas. Its consistent Monday through Friday afternoon hours (2–6 PM) align with after-school demand, making it a go-to destination for students and families. The center is managed by Erika Massie and connects patrons to the full Athens Regional Library System collection via the PINES statewide catalog. Note: during ongoing construction at the community center, additional parking is available behind the building near the baseball field.
