📖 About Linda Vista Library
The Linda Vista Library has served one of San Diego's most ethnically diverse neighborhoods for more than eight decades. It began in 1942 as a 400-square-foot converted cottage opened to meet the needs of wartime defense-plant workers who flooded into Linda Vista. A larger building followed in 1951 as the postwar population continued to grow. The current facility — a 10,000-square-foot structure designed by noted San Diego architect Rob Quigley — opened in 1987 and remains in use today. The branch reflects Linda Vista's multilingual character with collections in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese alongside the main English stacks. With 19 public computers, a meeting room accommodating 68 people, outdoor space, and 55 parking spaces, it functions as a full-service neighborhood library and community hub served by MTS Bus Routes 25, 44, and 120.
