Opened in September 1964 and designed by architects Pierson and Miller, Saguaro Library is one of Phoenix Public Library's longest-serving branches, tucked just south of Thomas Road on 46th Street in the Camelback East neighborhood. Its 10,500-square-foot building was recognized as the 2009 Public Works Project of the Year (Structures under $5 million) by the Arizona Chapter of the American Public Works Association, reflecting a renovation that modernized the facility. Today it serves City of Phoenix Council District 8, offering a collection with strong Spanish-language materials and English as a Second Language resources alongside books, DVDs, CDs, newspapers, and magazines — making it a vital resource for the area's diverse community.
