📖 About Saguaro Library

The Saguaro Library at 2808 N. 46th St. in the 85008 neighborhood of east Phoenix first opened its doors in September 1964, making it one of the system's veteran branches. Designed by Pierson and Miller, the 10,500-square-foot building was recognized with the 2009 Public Works Project of the Year for Structures under $5 Million from the Arizona Chapter of the American Public Works Association. The branch keeps a bilingual focus, stocking Spanish-language materials and English as a Second Language audiotapes alongside its general and media collections. A dedicated assistive computer workstation and ramped, accessible parking on the north side near the entrance make the building welcoming to all visitors. Programming includes Sit, Stay, Read sessions where children practice reading aloud to a therapy dog, and the branch offers a 40-person multipurpose room plus on-site electric vehicle charging.
