📚 About Mobile Public Library

Mobile Public Library is the public library system serving all of Mobile County, Alabama. Its flagship is the Ben May Main Library on Government Street in downtown Mobile, and eight branch locations extend service across the county from West Mobile to the Saraland and Theodore communities. The system is governed by the Mobile Public Library Board of Trustees and funded jointly by the City of Mobile and Mobile County.

Branch locations include the West Regional Library, the county's largest branch; the Semmes Regional Library in far northwest Mobile County; and the Virginia Dillard Smith/Toulminville Branch in the historic Toulminville community. The system offers digital services, genealogy resources through its Local History & Genealogy division, and programs for children and adults throughout the year.
