📖 About Loxley Public Library
Loxley Public Library has served Baldwin County's 'Biggest Little Town' since 1975, housed in a landmark 1924 building that began life as St. Raphael's Catholic Church — one of four mission churches built to serve Catholic immigrant workers in central Baldwin County. The congregation merged into St. Patrick Parish in Robertsdale in 1974, and the Town of Loxley converted the vacated church into its public library the following year. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 25, 1988. Today the small but beloved institution retains the original stained-glass windows of its ecclesiastical past while offering modern library services and free access to more than 500,000 items through the Baldwin County Library Cooperative's shared catalog at baldwincat.org.
