The Blount County Public Library was founded in 1919 and has grown into one of East Tennessee's most comprehensive public library systems. Located at 508 North Cusick Street in downtown Maryville, the library serves a community of over 137,000 residents with a print collection exceeding 240,000 items, including books, e-books, new-release DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks. The library's genealogy collection is nationally recognized, drawing researchers from across the United States to study Blount County heritage and Appalachian history.
