Founded in 1936 in a local hardware store and relocated to its current purpose-built home at 651 Kissel Hill Road when it opened in June 1999, Lititz Public Library is a member of the Library System of Lancaster County (LSLC), a consortium of 14 public libraries sharing a shared catalog and countywide services. The library serves 32,388 residents across Lititz Borough, Warwick Township, and Elizabeth Township — a landscape of small towns, Amish farmland, and Lancaster County's famed chocolate and pretzel heritage. In 2023 the library circulated more than 350,000 physical items and welcomed nearly 163,000 in-person visits; almost 15,000 active borrowers hold cards.
