📖 About Caldwell Public Library
The Caldwell Public Library is the free public library of Caldwell, Idaho, the seat of Canyon County in the Treasure Valley west of Boise. Library service in Caldwell dates to the city's Carnegie library, which opened on Cleveland Boulevard on May 2, 1914 with a $12,500 grant from Andrew Carnegie; that landmark served the public until 1976 (it is now the Caldwell Veterans Memorial Hall) and today the library operates from its own building at 1010 Dearborn Street. Owned and run by the City of Caldwell, it belongs to the statewide LYNX! Consortium, so a Caldwell card searches and borrows across a shared Polaris catalog of Idaho libraries. The library rounds out its shelves with an Idaho Room for local-history research, the Dean E. Miller Community Room, a hands-on makerspace, a Library of Things, and outreach that reaches homebound patrons and the wider community.
