📖 About Cresskill Public Library
Founded in 1930, the Cresskill Public Library operated its first premises east of Edward H. Bryan School on Orchard Street (now Brookside Avenue) from the early 1930s until 1951, when the library moved to its current home at 53 Union Avenue. A proud member of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS) — established in 1979 and encompassing all 62 Bergen County public libraries — the Cresskill library gives cardholders shared borrowing rights across Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, and Essex counties. The library reflects Cresskill's rich cultural mix: collections include books in English, Korean, and Hebrew, alongside DVDs and graphic novels, and dedicated ESL programs serve the borough's multilingual population. A Friends of the Library organization and an active board sustain community partnerships, while the library's Instagram presence keeps residents connected to new arrivals and programs.
