The Woodland Public Library sits in Baileyville, a small Washington County town on the banks of the St. Croix River in Downeast Maine, directly across the international border from St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Baileyville grew around the Woodland pulp and paper mills that operated through much of the twentieth century — the library takes its name from the former village of Woodland that was incorporated into Baileyville. Located at 169 Main Street and operated by the town, the library provides free public computer and Wi-Fi access critical in an area with limited broadband infrastructure.
