📖 About Bath County Memorial Library

Bath County Memorial Library was founded in 1949 by the Owingsville Woman's Club and opened its doors in January 1950 with a mission to make books, learning, and opportunity accessible to all. The library launched a bookmobile in 1953 to reach rural households across Bath County, and in 1963 it found its permanent home in the restored Farmer's Bank Building on Main Street. Today the library serves two locations — the main branch in Owingsville and a branch in the Sharpsburg Community Center — offering everything from a free seed library to story time and digital collections. Bath County's rolling hills and limestone geology define the landscape outside; inside, the library is a gathering place for residents of every generation. Library cards are free for all Bath County residents.
