Cavalry Hill Public Library is a branch of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library (HMCPL), a nonprofit 10-branch system that has served Madison County, Alabama for more than 200 years. The Cavalry Hill branch is named to commemorate the 10th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, the legendary African-American Buffalo Soldiers who set up camp atop this hill to recuperate after the Spanish-American War in Cuba. Today the branch occupies the west end of the former Academy for Academic Arts Magnet School building, serving the Northwoods community with a contemporary library offering programs, activities, and public access services tailored to the neighborhood. It is conveniently located off University Drive and Pulaski Pike. The branch provides a notary, a 3D printer, fax and scan services, public computers, free Wi-Fi, mobile printing, and an FOL Bookstore.
