The West Feliciana Parish Library serves St. Francisville and the entirety of West Feliciana Parish from its Burnett Road location. St. Francisville, the parish seat, sits on a narrow ridge above the Mississippi River bluffs and was once known for its concentration of antebellum plantation homes — a landscape that gives the parish a uniquely deep genealogical and historical record. The library has leaned into that heritage: partnering with the West Feliciana Historical Society and Museum, it received a Rebirth Public Library Grant to create the West Feliciana Digital History Archive, which collects, digitizes, and makes publicly available original historical records, documents, and photographs that chronicle the parish's cultural heritage, traditions, and family histories. Community Scan Days allow residents to bring family photographs and documents for digitization.
