📖 About Cedarburg Public Library
What began as a volunteer-organized collection in a local firehouse in 1912 evolved into one of Ozaukee County's most-visited civic spaces. The Cedarburg Woman's Club gathered donated books and opened the collection to the public two days a week; city growth drove a dedicated 10,812 sq ft building in 1971 and then a full replacement in 2014 — the current 25,500 sq ft home on Hanover Avenue designed to hold 60,000+ items with generous community spaces. CPL is one of 31 member libraries in the Monarch Library System spanning Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Washington, and Dodge counties, giving patrons shared access to millions of items through MonarchCat. The library is known locally for its rotating local artist exhibits, CPL Podcasts, a fully equipped Digital Lab with Adobe Creative Suite, and a Tinker Lab for hands-on exploration.
