📖 About Molalla Public Library

Molalla Public Library traces its roots to 1900, when the local Book Club sponsored the first collection and installed Mrs. E. Willard Robbins as librarian in her own home on Molalla Avenue. By 1903 the books moved to William Mackrell's Harness Shop on South Molalla Avenue, where they remained until 1937. Today the library occupies a dedicated building at 201 E 5th Street and is a proud member of LINCC — Libraries in Clackamas County — the county-wide consortium formed in 1977, whose shared catalog lets Molalla cardholders borrow from any LINCC library. A bookmobile extends service to neighborhoods and schools throughout the Molalla River Valley, and a dedicated Spanish Outreach & Cataloging librarian ensures the collection and programs serve Molalla's Spanish-speaking community. The Molalla Seed Library, open each spring and summer, lets gardeners check out vegetable, herb, and flower seeds — one of the few such programs in the South Clackamas area.
